Oman is intensifying its efforts to become a global leader in renewable energy and green hydrogen production. A high-level Omani delegation, led by Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, recently visited Germany to explore potential collaborations with Siemens Energy.
The visit focused on leveraging Siemens Energy’s expertise in renewable energy technologies and green hydrogen production to support Oman’s energy transition goals. The German company, renowned for its gas turbines and power transmission systems, has been a key partner in Oman’s energy sector and is now expanding its support into the emerging green hydrogen industry.
The delegation toured Siemens Energy’s Berlin facility, which specializes in electrolyzer modules, a crucial component in green hydrogen production. With plans to significantly increase production capacity, Siemens Energy is well-positioned to contribute to Oman’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
Both countries expressed optimism about the potential for future collaborations, aligning their efforts with Oman’s Vision 2040 and Germany’s commitment to sustainable energy development. This strategic partnership is expected to accelerate Oman’s transition to a low-carbon economy and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
