Hitachi Energy and MISCO Forge Strategic Partnership for Power Grid Optimization

Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader in power grids, has successfully collaborated with Moon Iron & Steel Company (MISCO) to enhance power quality and grid stability at the latter’s steel plant in Oman.
The partnership centered on the installation of an 85 Mvar SVC Light, a cutting-edge grid stabilization solution. Since its commissioning in 2019, the technology has proven instrumental in supporting MISCO’s operations, enabling the seamless operation of its electric arc furnace and ladle furnace.
Addressing Power Quality Challenges
MISCO, a prominent player in Oman’s steel industry, faced challenges related to grid fluctuations and power quality. The SVC Light solution provided by Hitachi Energy effectively mitigated these issues, ensuring the stable operation of the steel plant.
