A significant leap forward in Oman’s clean energy goals! A consortium led by EDF Group, J-POWER, and Yamna has secured a land grant from Hydrom, Oman’s green hydrogen company, to develop a large-scale green ammonia project.

Key Points:

  • Location: Dhofar Governorate, Oman (on a 341km² land block)
  • Production Capacity: 1 million tonnes of green ammonia annually
  • Renewable Energy Source: 4.5 GW of wind and solar power capacity with battery storage
  • Hydrogen Production: 2.5 GW state-of-the-art electrolyser
  • Project Duration: Exclusive rights for development, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance for 47 years
